FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a safe environment? What about for teens?
It is an extremely safe environment. Our dances are all about the
dancing. It is not a "pick-up joint." In the unlikely
event that you experience a problem with a dancer, please
come and find a board member and the problem will be dealt with
immediately.
Do you serve alcohol?
No.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably and wear shoes that have a little bit of "slip"
to them. Dance shoes with suede soles are always appropriate including
special "dance sneakers". Flip-flop shoes are not recommended.
Gentlemen, please bring extra changes of shirts. You will work up a sweat.
If I don't have a partner will I find people to dance
with?
Yes, with an average attendance of 70 people you will find plenty
of people to dance with.
Any comments on dance etiquette?
Yes.
Do you have a group discount for dances?
Our non-member rate for dances is only $6, but for groups of ten
or more people we may offer a group discount, please email the
President of ABD through this form
for more information.
Do I need to pre-register for group classes?
No, just come a few minutes early to pay for the classes.
Do I need a partner for group classes?
No, singles are welcome. The instructor will have partners
rotate during the class so everyone gets a chance to
practice the patterns. Dancing with a variety of partners
helps the learning process, so even if you come with a partner,
it is recommended that you switch and dance with others.
Do you take credit cards?
No, only cash and checks are accepted.
