Who We Are

Established as a non-profit club in 1981, ABD specializes in bringing ballroom to Austin at affordable prices.  If you’re looking for ballroom dancing, ABD is the place to be!!  Membership dues of just $50 per year ($30 for half a year) entitle you to a $20 discount on group classes.  We offer  classes for beginning and more experienced dancers on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   Singles and couples welcome! Our classes are held at the historic Hancock Recreation Center/Golf Course, 811 E. 41st Street.

ABD also sponsors ballroom variety dances on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at Austin Uptown Dance on 8868 Research Blvd.  This is a fun, social dance open to dancers of all ages and abilities — a friendly place to practice what you learn in class. Admission is $7 for members and full-time students, $10 for guests.
